Sanlúcar de Guadiana
This picturesque border
town situated on the banks of the River Guadiana is just 20 miles inland from
the Atlantic Ocean. One of Spain's pueblos blancos, steeped in 
history with it's
castle dating back to the twelfth century, the port of Sanlucar de Guadiana gained prominence in the first half of the nineteenth
century when it was used as a base to export such crops as rice, soap, lead and
wood. Now, however, the only boats to be seen are those of visiting yachtsmen
and the local fishermen who live in the village.
The surrounding areas are renowned for their now dormant mines and the Rio
Tinto mines are reputed to be the oldest mines in the world. According to
myth, these are the fabled mines of King Solomon.
The village has two general stores, a bakers, post office and four
bar/restaurants and with an average meal out costing around 6 euros per person,
you are sure to be delighted with this taste of old Spain.
With Portugal's Alcoutim just a minute's ferry ride across the river, you are
able to enjoy two cultures in two different time zones. New Year's Eve can be
celebrated twice in this unique location! There is also a man made beach
and swimming area.
Car hire is recommended to get the most out of this area.
Casa Verde
Stunning
terrace views down river and across to Portugal's Alcoutim from this superbly
equipped 3 double bed roomed house.
This traditional, restored house comprises 1 double, 2 twin (one with private wc
and basin),
separate bathroom, further wc with
washing machine, fully furnished
kitchen with fridge and freezer, large sitting room with sofa bed and wood burner,
separate dining room, covered outdoor dining area and terrace with built in
bar-b-q. The house is
fully equipped and furnished to a high standard. British digital
television is installed.
Being a privately owned family house, this is tastefully furnished and
non-smoking.
Our rates are fully inclusive
of all charges including electricity, gas, logs, bed linen, towels, tea towels
and a welcome pack (comprising bread, milk, tea, coffee, sugar,
butter, and jam.)
Car hire is advised and these are
readily available from arrival airports.
Public transport is limited.

The letting week
starts at 16.00 on Friday and finishes at 10.00 the following Friday.

Booking Terms
and Conditions
Please contact us to confirm
availability of your preferred dates. We will then email you a booking form. The
booking will be secured on receipt of a completed booking form and a deposit of
50% of the full hire charge. The balance will be payable 6 weeks prior to the
start of the hire period. Keys and full directions will be sent to you on
receipt of the full balance. A separate security deposit cheque of £50 is also
required at this time and will be returned to you on receipt of the keys after
your hire period.
If the booking is cancelled 6 weeks or more before the start of the letting
period, half the deposit will be returned. If cancellation is less than 6 weeks
before the start, the deposit is not returnable.
